Friends and colleagues of longtime Vision for Children at Risk Executive Director Rich Patton gathered on January 24 to celebrate his accomplishments and December 31 retirement. Speakers included Martin Casas, presenting a proclamation from St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson; Tom Nolan; Ron Jackson; Robbyn Wahby; and Rich’s brother Jim. All praised his work to improve the well-being of children in the region who face poverty and racial inequity, and his ability to bring together diverse stakeholders to collaborate in strategic action. Jim provided some humorous advice on retirement. Thanks to Becky James and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri for hosting the event at the beautiful ANEW Rooftop space.
