Overview
Families should be at the center of decisions that impact them. The Parent Advisory Councils (PACs) and Youth Advisory Councils (YACs) help us make that happen. Parent & Youth Advisory Councils put leadership and decision-making power back in your hands and connect you to a broad network of systems change makers.
Vision for Children at Risk supports four Parent (& Youth) Advisory Councils in the St. Louis region, each with a different focus. Along with this, we support multiple collaboratives/councils that bring together a broad group of stakeholders. PAC/PYAC representatives are always at the table.
Focus Areas
VCR supports four different PACs/PYACs in the St. Louis region:
- VCR PAC: This core PAC serves as a regional hub of parent advisory councils focused on the well-being of children. We strive to increase parent voice and leadership while creating avenues for policy and systems change.
- PACT-STL PYAC: Open to all parents and caregivers that have experience with the child protection system.
- Project LAUNCH PAC: Open to all parents and caregivers in the City of St. Louis who have children 0-8 years old and are interested in supporting young children’s healthy development and well-being.
- System of Care PAC: Open to all parents and caregivers with children that have severe emotional, mental, and/or behavioral health challenges.
System of Care YAC: Open to all youth that have or are at risk for severe emotional, mental, and/or behavioral challenges and are ready to step up and make a difference for others.
