SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital Announces Sponsorship of St. Louis Children’s Agenda

ST. LOUIS – SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital has announced its support of the nonprofit organization Vision for Children at Risk as a sponsor of the St. Louis Metropolitan Children’s Agenda, the structure through which community agencies work together regionally on strategic issues affecting children.

SSM Cardinal Glennon will provide $20,000 per year for two years to support the five-plus health strategies of the Children’s Agenda. These strategies include reducing infant mortality, promoting health care access for children, working to prevent lead poisoning, and operating the Maternal Child Health Coalition.

The sponsorship enables Vision for Children at Risk to provide staff and operations to facilitate, convene and coordinate the groups of agencies working together in these strategies. Hundreds of agencies from across the St. Louis area participate in the Children’s Agenda, all on a voluntary basis.

“We are very grateful to SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital for recognizing the importance of the Children’s Agenda as the vehicle through which the community can collaborate for the benefit of at-risk children,” said Richard Patton, executive director of Vision for Children at Risk.

"We are proud to be associated with Vision for Children at Risk. We believe there are many factors that influence the health and well-being of children, and we share the commitment of our partners at VCR in seeing that children have the greatest possible potential for a bright future," says Doug Ries, President of SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.

Vision for Children at Risk brings together people, organizations and resources to work regionally to improve the well-being of St. Louis-area children.  For more information, contact Vision for Children at Risk at (314) 534-6015 or visit www.visionforchildren.org.
