Richard Patton, Director Rich has been director of Vision for Children at Risk since it’s founding in 1999. Prior to that he served as the research coordinator and executive director for Project Respond, VCR’s predecessor agency. Before joining Vision for Children at Risk, Patton was a senior research analyst for many years with the Public Policy Research Centers at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. He also has served as Research Associate and Lecturer at the Center for Urban Programs at St. Louis University and as a research analyst at Governmental Research Institute, as well as consulting for a wide range of community organizations. He has served on the board of numerous community organizations, most of which are directed to promoting the well-being of children, youth, and families. Rich has contributed research and writing to the Advocacy and Early Childhood Development sections of the Children's Policy Forum.
Ann Watts, CEY Project Coordinator Ann Watts has long experience in working with issues concerning children and families. She spent over nine years at Child Day Care Association. Prior to that her experience included positions with MO DFS (now Children's Division), as a teacher in a child care center and later with Child Care Licensing. She has worked at Vision for Children at Risk since 2008 as a Project Coordinator with the St Louis Family and Community Partnership.
Jim Braibish, Financial Development & Communications Jim Braibish of Braibish Communications handles financial development and public relations for Vision for Children at Risk. Prior to starting Braibish Communications in 2002, he held senior management positions for 15 years at the American Red Cross and Optimist International. An accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America, he was the 2008 president of the St. Louis Chapter.
Ashleigh Harold, Research Analyst - Web Development Ashleigh – a long-time resident of St. Louis with collegiate work at Washington University and Bryn Mawr – specializes in project management and web development for the Children's Policy Forum website. She has professional interests and expertise in industrial and organizational psychology, and social media and marketing. A Vision employee since 2008, Ashleigh has shepherded the Children's Policy Forum from its initial inception through to its launch. Ashleigh has contributed research and writing to the Family Support section of the website.
Liz Hoester, Research Coordinator Liz is a native St. Louisan who has received all her education in St. Louis from the “Red Door” preschool in University City to her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Washington University. Liz joined the staff of Vision for Children at Risk in 2007 and currently focuses on building and maintaining a community resource inventory database. She daydreams of all the ways this data could be made accessible through mapping tools and hopes to utilize this technology in the future. Liz has contributed research and writing on the Youth Development, and Safe Neighborhoods & Strong Communities sections of the Children's Policy Forum.
Belinda L. Boston, Office Coordinator Belinda has been the Office Coordinator for Vision for Children at Risk since April 2001. She provides administrative support to the organization and has over 14 years of administrative skills in the nonprofit sector. Belinda is a volunteer for the St. Louis Witness Project as a Lay Health Advisor where she received an award for Volunteer of the Year. She also serves as the board treasurer for the Teen Pregnancy and Prevention Partnership. Belinda holds a Bachelors degree in Legal Studies.
Martin Dunlap, Facilities Manager Marty came to Vision for Children at Risk in 1996 at age 14 via the St. Louis Children’s Agenda Youth Employment Clearinghouse. He is the second-longest-tenured member of our staff. Over all those years he has kept the office facilities of VCR and the Children’s Agenda in top working order. In addition to his job with VCR, Marty works as a baker at Jilly’s Cupcake Bar. Happily, those huge cupcakes regularly find their way to the VCR offices. Marty has a young son and daughter who are regular VCR visitors.
